Our History

Florence Federal Credit Union (FFCU) has proudly served the Shoals community since 1959. Founded with the mission to provide affordable financial services and promote economic well-being, FFCU began as a small credit union dedicated to helping local City of Florence employees and their families manage their finances. In March 2001, when the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) granted FFCU a Community Charter, allowing anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Colbert and Lauderdale Counties - as well as businesses and other legal entities in these areas - to become members.

Over the years, we have grown in membership, services, and technology while remaining Caring, Committed, Connected...to you! Our focus has always been on putting our members first, offering competitive loan rates, convenient banking options, and personalized financial guidance.

Today, FFCU continues to be a trusted financial partner, strengthening the community through responsible lending, educational initiatives, and member-focused service. As we look to the future, we remain committed to providing innovative financial solutions while maintaining the personal touch that has defined us for generations.
